Frithelstock Women's Institute

 History

The Frithelstock Branch was formed on 21 October 1938 when 28 ladies met at the Church Hall.  The first meeting was held on 1 November 1938.
Since that time, enthusiasm and effort has motivated the group to achieve many things, from making 500lbs of jam and knitting 480 garments for the troops in WW2, creating illustrated Wall Hanging and Anniversary Cloth, to raising money for the Village Hall and North Devon Hospice.
Today, the Branch is very active - holding competitions, teas, arranging flowers, and listening to speakers on an eclectic range of subjects. Meetings are held in the Village Hall on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm, all visitors welcome.
